1. CoronaVirus. How has the pandemic affected your campaign?

I am unable to walk door-to-door.  Something that I enjoyed very much and was incredibly helpful to me both as a legislator and as a campaigner.  Instead, I have called over 3000 of my constituents.  Helpful, but not nearly as fun.

2. Accomplishments & Disappointments? Describe your four years in the legislature.

I have sponsored and passed conservator guardianship legislation, ethics reform, voting changes, criminal justice reform and the small business loan program to name a few.

3. Your goals and priorities for the 2021 Legislative Session?

The 2021 session should be transformative.  We will be dealing with both a financial and health crisis.  We should be focused on better ways to invest the permanent fund in New Mexico to help small business and establish the basis for remote access to the internet for everyone.  I am also hopeful that we can legalize marijuana.

4. What is your focus for District 23 and the Westside?

Small business support, support for those out of work and those struggling with housing and access to affordable healthcare.

5. How do you differentiate yourself from your opponent, Republican Ellis McMath?

My opponent and I differ on a wide number of issues.  I am pro-choice.  I am for sensible firearms legislation and access to affordable health care.
