2026 NM Legislative Session The NM Legislative Session runs through Feb 19. The NM League of Women Voters will offer a Zoom webinar on legislative advocacy during this time.

First 2026 WSD Meeting Join us at noon for the first meeting of the year. Additionally, the first of several new WSD focus groups are starting to get together.

Preview the upcoming NM Legislative 2026 Session
(January 20 – February 19)

Let’s have a strong WSD showing at the town hall. Then, let’s gather at a nearby restaurant/bar on Unser to chat about what we learned and to discuss our priorities for this session. Location of gathering TBD at end of town hall.

WESTGATE AREA:

NEXT THURSDAY, JANUARY 15, three of our West Side Democratic legislators will host a town hall, 5:30-7:00 pm, at Robert F. Kennedy High School, 4300 Black Rd. SW.

LADERA AREA: 

ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 17, five West Side Democratic state representatives will host a town hall, 10 am – noon, at the Ladera Golf Course, 3401 Ladera Dr. NW

Representative Rebecca Dow (R-Doña Ana, Sierra & Socorro) –House Appropriations & Finance, House Transportation, Public Works & Capital Improvements, House Printing & Supplies

Linda Siegle – Long time lobbyist, president of a consulting firm focused on lobbying the legislature for nonprofit agencies and strategic planning. She is a former member of the Santa Fe County Health Policy and Planning Commission and has served as chair of various state councils and committees.

Ms. Siegle is an elected Trustee on the Santa Fe Community College Board

This is a training on the legislative process. Questions about positions on specific issues will not be permitted.

Meets at Weck’s Restaurant, 6311 Riverside Plaza NW (in Riverside Plaza). They meet twice a month: every third Sunday at 12:30 and first Saturday at 10:00, at Weck’s.

SATURDAY, 1/24, the first WSD Meeting of 2026

12-2:30 pm, West Mesa Community Center, 5500 Glenrio Rd. NW. PROGRAM: Share your vision for WSD 2026; 2026 NM Legislative Update.

 

The NM Martin Luther King Commission has organized MLK observances entitled Dream Week around the state starting this Monday. 

Albuquerque events start January 16, with the Remembrance Vigil at the fairgrounds. 

The vigil and the Commemorative March will be streamed live. All dates shown below. For details, go here.

This ward meeting marks the first step in the pre-primary process, when Democrats across Bernalillo County come together to elect delegates who will represent our county at the 2026 DPNM Pre-Primary Convention. Delegates elected through this process will help determine which Democratic candidates appear on the statewide and federal primary ballot.
